Remote Desktop Connection Error between Win 7 & XP
Hi friends, I have a Windows XP Pro SP2 & Windows 7 pro laptops. I can access Windows 7 desktop on Windows XP using Remote desktop connection. But When I want to access XP desktop on my Windows 7 laptop, it is showing a message : "The Identity of the remote computer cannot be verified. Do you want to connect anyway? The Problem can occur if the remote computer is running a version of windows that is earlier than Windows vista..... " With two options YES NO . I click on Yes, it asks credentials of XP machine. I provided. It login but showing a blank screen. Other Details: Both Firewalls are in OFF. Laptops are in LAN not using Internet.

Hi, The reason that you encounter this issue is because you are using a newer version of Remote Desktop client than what the remote computer using. Please kindly set up your Remote Desktop client to connect even if there is no authentication. While you may refer the following steps: 1. Open your Remote Desktop client. Then go to Options. 2. Click on the Advanced tab and under "If server authentication fails" choose Connect and don't warn me.
