Did you set your remote settings right? You can do that by system properties You can find is by right click on computer and then properties en dan you can click advanced system settings. Here by default is don't allow connections to this computer checkedNow you can put it on allow connections from computers running any version of Remote DesktopDon't forget to sellect de users.Hopefully this is your sollution.and by the way check your firewall settings.grtz

Have you forwarded port 3389 from the router to the PC? Here's alink to a tutorial on using Remote Desktop. The tutorial is for XP but all versions of Windows are very similar in how to set this up. How to setup your router will vary for each router. The tutorial will set you on the right track but you will have to look in your router manual for the specific steps for your router.Kerry Brown MS-MVP - Windows Desktop Experience

so has anybody had a successful connection to a Win7 computer using RD?

Yes, I connect into a Win7 RC1 computer from my Vista client with RDC just fine. What exactly is the problem your having? What error messages do you get? I presume you have enabled RDC on the Win7 RDC host PC and made sure the Windows Firewall has an exception for Remote Destkop checked. Are you trying to connect over a LAN or from the public internet?MS-MVP Windows Desktop Experience, "When all else fails, read the instructions"
