Remote Desktop
Dear Sir/ Madam, We have installed windows 7 in 20 PCs... Now we are facing problem in that 20 PCs. we cant copy CDs from Network but we can copy on XP machine for same accounts... and also in XP we can open Remote Desktop on PCs by intelliadmin third party tool but we cant open it on Windows 7 and SMS Client is also not installed. and also we are not seeing PCs in My network places. I think here in Windows 7 we have advanced firewall. how can we disable it if it exist...... How can we make firewall policies same like windows XP........... Thanks & Regards Vishal Sharma

Hi, Firstly, please take the following steps to configure Remote Settings on PCs. 1. Make sure that you enable the “Allow connection from computers running any version of Remote Desktop(less secure)” option in Remote settings. 1) Click Start, right click Computers. 2) Click Properties and click Remote Settings. 3) Check the box “Allow connection from computers running any version of Remote Desktop(less secure)”. 4) Click OK. 2. Configure the user account to be allowed to connect to the computer: 1) Click Select Users under Remote settings. 2) Click Add. 3) You can type a specific user name or type everyone. 4) Click OK twice. Second, to allow CD drive copied in remote session, please enable clipboard, DVD drive or other local resource in your remote session, please refer to 1) Click Start and type: mstsc in the Start Search box. 2) Click on mstsc to launch Remote Desktop Connection. 3) Click Options and click Local Resources. 4) Check the box of Clipboard and click More under Local devices and resources. 5) Check the box of Drives. 6) Click OK. Now Remote your computer and see how it works. Third, as the PCs are not shown in Network, please check if the Network Discovery is enabled. 1) Click Start. 2) Click Control Panel. 3) Click Networking and Sharing Center. 4) Click the Drop Down arrow next to Network Discovery. 5) Click the option, Turn on network discovery. 6) Click apply. BTW, to temporarily disable Windows Firewall, please take the following steps: 1) Click StartCollapse this imageExpand this image, and then click Control Panel. 2) Click Security, and then click Windows Firewall. 3) Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off. 4) In the Windows Firewall Settings window, click Off (not recommended), and then click OK.
