Regular cold calls from India telling me my computer is corrupted and needs attention at a cost.  The call this morning came from 02533639006.
Please could someone tell me if calls from India telling me this computer is corrupted and needs attention at a cost are to be regarded as suspicious. This morning, my husband took one of many calls from a company whose name can never be clearly understood. This morning's call came from the above mentioned phone no. It was a particularly rude call, insisting they knew there was corruption on my system and when my husband asked the source of this information and how they were going to deal with it and at what cost, the caller insisted on knowing my husband's age. When he asked the caller to put the problems he was talking about into an e-mail he rang off.As this has happened so often before, could someone please let me know what action I should take to ensure that any information concerning my computer's working order is authentic and comes from a reliable source. My husband and I are pensioners and getting anxious about the number of calls we get of this kind. We had a computer check carried out not so long ago and all was well at that time. Despite the running being a little slow, I don't have serious problems that I am aware of. I have learnt to be patient when waiting for the computer to operate as needed.I look forward to hearing from you in due course. Many thanks. 1 person got this answerI do too
