Regarding LIP for Windows 7
Hello users, i have a small question regarding the LIP's to be installed in my Windows 7 Ultimate OS. I needed the Assamese language of India, but after searching everywhere for the same, i've failed to get the download link for this language. Somewhere in this forum i got one link about Hindi LIP but i could find no where the assamese lip. I've checked the library section in this site which confirms that this language is available for Windows 7. So, i would be very grateful if anyone could give me a link to download the file. Regards Xenam

Go to http://www.microsoft.com/unlimitedpotential/programs/llp.mspx, select "Language Offerings", select "Asian Languages", then "Assamese" in Step 2. A download is provided only for Office 2007, however. "I think there is a world market for maybe five computers.” (Thomas J. Watson, Sr.)

Hello, do i now assume that there is no LIP available for assamese for Windows 7. The information in the link http://www.microsoft.com/unlimitedpotential/programs/llp.mspx contains no product for Windows 7. But in the TechNet Library, as i've already mentioned, says that Assamese LIP(as-IN) is available for Windowws Vista and Windows 7 as well. Can any body confirm whether it would be possible for me to get the LIP as-IN for Windows 7. Regards, Xenam

Dear Nikhil, I've tried to install vista lip for assamese but it is not working.. it says corrupted or unknown language file, while the same works correctly in Vista. Also, i've checked the microsoft website where it indicates that Windows Vista LIP are not going to work for Windows 7 and so new LIP's for Windows 7 have been released. But no distinct download links are mentioned there. Regards Xenam

What about one for Office 2007 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=91426C33-EA45-482D-AF08-CD8EA8CBFD53&displaylang=as doesn't help as a whole for the complete system, but at least you can do documents, etc with it. Right now I couldn't find a that LIP for Windows 7, as they say, its based on demand when they'll produce one.MCSE, MCSA, MCDST [If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message. HI Still Microsoft has not released Asian(Indian) Languages other than Hindi for Windows 7. As Cdobbs mentioned you can use it for office 2007. Contact Microsoft (india) and request for your language with the same mentioned link. Hope it solves soon. Best regards Nikhil
