Redirector Virus
Windows 7 on a 64 bit platform. Started noticing browser searches were being redirected to sites other than what I requested. I've tried everything I can to get rid of this, but can't do it. At the time of infection I had Security Essentials running. Since then I've used Malwarebytes and TDS Killer. I've made sure my IE connection settings were correct, checked the hosts file and network settings, and even tried running the antivirus scans in Safe mode. Nothing seems to be able to root this thing out. Anyone have any idea's? Ted

Hi TedF1, I suggest you running MS Safety Scanner at http://safety.live.com/. Note: To ensure the scanner works properly, you may need to temporarily disable UAC by clicking the Start button, typing UAC in the search box, pressing Enter, selecting the lowest option Never notify, clicking OK and restarting the PC. Also, try resetting IE settings: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737. HijackThis is another useful tool that helps dertermine what causes the issue.
