Recycle Bin and My Documents Redirection
This is a server and workstation issue/question, but I hope someone has seen this before. I have a data server that I redirect user documents to from a My Documents redirection policy on the domain. However, when users delete files from their My Documents folder, it creates a Recycle Bin on the server and stores the deleted files. Users are not used to purging the Recycle Bin so the server fills up and I have to manually delete the folders from the server. I tried turning off the Recycle Bin on the machine via a registry change, but this stops ALL Recycle Bin functions and a user deleted something they really needed by mistake, so that's not an option either.Does anyone have a solution/workaround to this issue? Thank you!1 person needs an answerI do too

Offhand it sounds as though you've redirected more than you should. Normally one just redirects My Documents and perhaps the Desktop. It sounds like you've redirected the entire user profile. Post to the appropriate TechNet forum for information about correctly redirecting user directories to your server. I only redirected My Documents and all sub-folders of My Documents via a Windows GP, not the entire user profile. Do I still need to post in the server forum?

I would. That way you'll get the attention of people who routinely manage servers.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
