Recurring wireless connection problems in Win 7 Professional
I have a couple of users that carry their work laptops home or to other sites. They are able to connect to either wireless networks fine, however when they return back to work, we have to reconnect and reconfigure the work connection as I did the first time they connected to the work network. What setting do I need to ensure to eliminate the need of these users to have to enter the SSID and WPA 2 persoanl key? Thanks

1. What does this means "we have to reconnect and reconfigure "? 2. Are there any traces in event log(s)? Rgds Milos

Hi, You can try the following suggestions: Try going into Control Panel > Network and Internet > Manage Wireless Networks. If the desired internet connection is already listed, right click and go to Properties. If not, add your connection manually. In Properties, there should be a check box with an option to have Windows 7 automatically connect to this network. Make sure you have already checked under this option. Hopes this helps.Your Name TechNet Community Support

In other words when the user brings back the laptop after leaving our workplace, I have to connect the wireless nic back to the work network and they are fine until the next time they return. I hadn't thought to look in the event log but I will and get back to ya. Thanks
