Recovering from an image fails

Hi I'm having the following problem.

I have a Dell Precision M4700 with two 320GB SATA drives in RAID 0. I had to replace one of the HDDs, but was able to make an image of my drive using the in built tool in Windows 8.1.

I'm having problems re-imaging the computer.

I boot from the en_windows_8_1_enterprise_x64_dvd_2791088.iso (the same was installed prior to the HDD swap) and go in to advanced recovery options and select to restore from image. I load the Intel Rapid store drivers for the RAID. But when I try to apply the image I get the following error.

The system image restore failed.

Error detail: The processor architecture or OS version of Windows Recovery Environment is not the same as that of the computer that was backed up. For example, a backup of an Vista X64-based computer can be recovered only by using an Vista X64-based version of Windows Recovery.

Hi,

"make an image of my drive"

Did you back up the system or drive? which build tool did you use, Sytem Image Backup?

What's verison of your original operating system? If it matches the new image?

If yes, I suggest you use "en_windows_8_1_enterprise_x64_dvd_2791088.iso" image to reinstall your computer. Then use the previous image to restore your personal data and settings.
