Recent items missing from start menu fly out for Visio 2010
I have windows 7 enterprise 32 bit with Visio 2010 standard. When I open Visio it appears in the recent programs list on the start menu, but no matter
how many documents I open there are no recent documents displayed for Visio. The recent documents work for other programs, Word, Excel, Power Point, Notepad etc…. The jump lists for Visio and other application work fine. I have looked in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations
for large files as in the fix for the jump lists, but there are no large files there.
If I pin Visio to the Start menu the recent items menu appears, but if I unpin it the menu disappears.
How can I get the recent documents to be listed like other applications?

Hi,
After testing and researching, I found this is by design.
Some applications will not automatically show the recent items without pinning it to the start menu. You may pin it to the start menu as a workaround.
Also, I will report this to our related department.
Thank you for your posting and understanding.

I think is it odd that an application would be prevented from doing this when many other applications are allowed; but thank you
for letting me know.
