Receiving an error message saying that requested operation requires elavation?????? Please help.
Hello I am try download the following file -WindowsXP-KB942288-v3-x86.exe. I have identified that this is the proper download that I need for Windows Vista and once I download the file I recieve a message saying that the operation requires elavation. I have made sure that I am signed on as the administrator and I should be able to download and extract this program. What should I do? I would appreciate your help. Hello, to solve your problem, you should use an elevated prompt even if you are logged as an administrator. To perform that, right-click your file and click on run as an administrator and then all should okay. You can also disable UAC and run your file but I don't recommand that for security reasons (If you disable it enable it again after the install).
