Realtek Update results in no Internet Connection
New system and interent worked no problem but after updating the driver through the Windows Update I cant connect and get a messagethat RealtekRTL8168B/8111B Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC ......detected (NDIS6.0) adaptor is experiencing driver or hardware related problemsNow my chipsare 8111D and that may make a difference but the roginal drivers on the 64bit RC1 Win7 disc worked no problems. Now I dont want to do a system restore and was wondering if there is a simple way to put the old drivers back on or maybe there is a different solution ?Would it be better to install all the mobos drivers ( Vista ) from the Motherboard Intel 5 series Utility DVD ?btw: its a Gigabyte ex58UD5 mobo with a i7920 cpu

The system restore showed the point at the last update so I restored there and am now typing this on the computer.Looks like the Realtek driver upgrade is poison :-)edit : have a different ID on this PC

Realtek anything is poison from what I have seen. I have Realtek audio and it sucks as well.

I have the same system setup and I have had the same problem. I had to do a system restore to get the original Realtek Ethernet driver back.

I've got a RealTek LAN and RealTek Audio and both are working fine on both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 RC.The RealTek LAN drivers were updated with Windows Updates. No problem with internet connection at all.The Audio I downloaded from MB (Gigabyte) website: installed with no problems. Looks and sounds great, again, both in 32-bit and 64-bit.GA P32 DQ6 Mb, Intel Wolfdale 8600 3.33Ghz C2D CPU., 4x2Gb Mushkin DDR2 1066 PC2 8500 Ascents Memory Mods., 4-Western Digital Caviar SATA(2) HDD's (internal), 1 EIDE-USB External; Hauppauge PVR 1600 TV tuner, Dual Monitor: (1) Standard up top, (1) WideScreen below; Altec Lansign Speakers...

I guess it depends on what realtek LAN your mobo uses . Could be the chipsets are different.
