Realtek 8187B
I have an Advent laptop running Vista 32 bit with SP's 1 and 2 and a Realtek 8187B. I have reinstalled Vista and now cannot get the Wlan to work. Have tried everything I can think of, but still getting the error: The network adapter "Wireless Network Connection" is not correctly configured to use the IP Protocol Please help!! I'm going mad with this. Currently using a USB mobile modem to access the web, but want to be able to use the wireless and connect wirelessly.

Hello Las D Rashid, and thank you so much for replying. I have done as you suggested and it has installed the drivers, but the same error message is coming up. It also shows the Realtek RTL8187B Wireless LAN Utility, which Consists of 6 tabs General Profile Available Network Status Statistics Wi-Fi Protect Setup Each tab has various options to set up the LAN. Could you assist me with this please? Kind Regards

Hi, How did you receive the error? After installed the driver, is there the Realtek 8187B listed in the device manager and is it enabled? Please check if the information in the following article helps: Can't connect to a home network (wireless connection) Also, you may check if you set up the Wireless Router properly: Setting Up a Wireless Router With Vista Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice.
