Reading network diagnostics report?
Network diagnostics reports in Windows 7 appear to be in the format of an ETL file. What on earth do you read an ETL file with?

Hi,The Network diagnostics report can be accessed by "Event Viewer" tool in "Administrators Tools". Please open the tool in Control Panel and click "Action" menu in Event Viewer tool, and then click "Open Saved log" option. Locate the report and click open.Thanks,Novak

Locate the report and click open.Thanks,Novak Thanks for that - in that case, why is there a hyperlink on the Network diagnostics report screen to the etl file if the only way it can be read is through the saved logs function in Event Viewer? I naturally assumed that I could click the hyperlink and be taken to the file which I could then read...

Hi,The etl file is a trace log file and it can only be opened by specific tool, such as "Event Viewer". Usually, we cannot open it directly and this is by design. Thank you for your understanding.Thanks,Novak
