ReadProcessMemory
My 64 bit Win 7 PC has started to show "Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed" when I try to run setup on a CD or DVD. I can copy files from the DVD reader to hard disk and install the app from there. I've tried the solutions for Win XP to this problem but can't find the settings tabs for the CD/DVD drive. Any help appreciated.

Hi, 1. Please run clean boot first to check whether there is a program that disturb your DVD. You can refer to this to have a try. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, we can enable half of the total disabled startup and services each time to see what service disturb your program. 2. If it doesn’t work, you can do the following steps to change your setting to transfer mode. 1. Click the Start Button, type devmgmt.msc in the “Start Search” box and press Enter. 2. In the Device Manager, expand "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" 3. You might see several “IDE Channel” items. Double click one of them, click the Advanced Tab. In Devices, can you see the “ATAPI Cdrom”? If you cannot, please check another “IDE Channel” item. 4. If you find it, please uncheck the “Enable DMA” option in the Advanced Tab. 5. Click OK 3. Remove upper filter and lower filter. 1. Click Start , type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue. 2. Locate, and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} Caution There can be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must make sure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and the LowerFilters values. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the Default data value is DVD/CD-ROM and the Class data value is CDROM. 3. In the right pane, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete. 4. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the UpperFilters registry entry. 5. In the right pane, right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete. 6. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the LowerFilters registry entry. 7. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer. For more information visit the below links: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929461 (This article can also be used in windows 7) http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cd_dvd_drive_problems 4. You may try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for DVD drive and check. 1. Click on start button. 2. In the search box type devmgmt.msc and then press enter. 3. Select the DVD drive and right click on it 4. Now select properties. 5. In the properties window, under Driver tab, click on Uninstall button. 6. After the uninstalling the drivers restart the computer. This should automatically install proper drivers for it. You may also download and install the latest driver for it from manufacturer’s website. Hi.Thanks for your suggestions Nicholas.I tried them all. No change with 1. There is no IDE ATA/ATAPI on this PC (A model HP Pavilion Elite M9451UK). The drive is a tsstcorp CDDVDW TS-H653Z which I believe to be a SCSI drive. Item 3 didn't work and when I searched for a later driver as item 4 it came back that my driver software is up to date.
