Re-populate Address Book in Outlook Express 6.x
Hi,A friend of mine recenlty had her OS reloaded. However, the person who did it for her neglected to back up her address book (*.wab).Is there a way it can automatically be re-populated using the old existing emails in the Inbox and/or Sent folder? Thanks in advance.

Hi GTifleld, 1. What type of installation did your friend perform? Was it a repair install or format clean install? If it's a clean install, then we doubt that this can't be accomplished. However we recommend you to check if there is file with *.WAB extension, search for it on the computer. You might have to copy this file, if you had performed a repair install.See Search files and foldersMicrosoft Outlook Express 6.0 uses a Windows Address Book (.wab) file to store Address Book data. The individual data for each identity is stored in a folder by user name within the .wab file that is used.Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.
