Randomly not recieving email in 2010 Outlook
I am not recieving email into my 2010 Outlook on Windows 7. I am set up with POP 3 email settings to send and recieve over the internet, not an exchange server. I do recieve email randomly, for instance from my own .msn account. I have a 2003 Outlook set up on a different computer with the same POP account and it recieves all emails no problem. I saw a similar problem in the forum with and followed suggestion of 1) turning off virus scan of email 2) Doing a repair on MSOffice 3) Setting the schedule send/recieve (now set for ever 2 minutes). There does not seem to be any one common thread to the emails that are not being recieved. It happens on other POP accounts, gmail and hotmail. For example it will not recive emails I send from my own POP email address. This is very frustrating as I am not an IT expert at all and work in a small business that does not have an IT department. I am trying to upgrade and cannot operate on to computers like this!

Hello, POP3 "pulls" down emails from the mail server into your outlook. Unless you specifically tell outlook to leave a copy on the server, once you hit send/receive, the e-mail will be pulled down from the server. Consequently, if you go to the other machine and hit send/receive, it will not find those e-mails on the server. Make sure that this is not what is actually happening. Also, yes, check that your AV does not have a spam filter that is filtering the e-mails Check your junk mail folder for the missing e-mails Make sure both outlooks are configured to leave a copy of the e-mail on the server MiguelMiguel Fra / Falcon IT Services Computer & Network Support, Miami, FL Visit our Knowledgebase and Support Sharepoint Site

That's why one of them isn't getting most of the mail. When computer A gets an e-mail message, that message is no longer available on the server for computer B to get (unless you've configured Outlook to leave it there). Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP

You can use Windows Mail, Thunderbird and several other pop3 client email applications to see if the problem follows.
