Hi! The rundll32.exe is a process responsible for running DLLs and placing its libraries in the memory. Which AV are you using now? Sometimes antivirus need to launch notifications to make the user feel they are "working". I only recommend one AV for Windows, and its the one developed by Microsoft, because all AV fails detecting viruses in the same percentage, but at least Security Essentials is clean with the system. Well, I use Norton, and I love it. I was downloading a few vector files for Illustrator, and before I know it, my computer is blipping and screaming about virus, virus and virus. It doesn't even give you an option to still download it if you want to. Heheheh! It just takes it away. I don't know much about this kind of thing. I still haven't figured out why my system restore is not working. If you need a lawyer, I'm your gal; but this type of thing is well over my head. Everything was fine until I purchased and installed Cinema 4D, and a friend of mine said I needed to cut out all of the unnecessary processes, but I have no idea of how to choose. Thank you for responding!

You should check for infections by running tools like malwarebytes,ESET online scanner or contact malware removal forums Rundll32 process can be hooked by infected DLLs to redirect your webpages. RUNDLL32.EXE is a system file,Infected DLLs use this process to run them.

Hi lawyer ilovechoobies :-) You can do what narenxp tell you... You can check for viruses if you feel better but I think it would be better doing it with Windows Defender Offline following these steps: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/what-is-windows-defender-offline/ Tell us if it detected viruses and if the problem was solved. Good luck! Manu. Colobora con el foro: Si la respuesta es de utilidad para resolver tu duda/problema, usa la opcin "Marcar como repuesta".
