When copying a folder to an empty locationusing Windows Explorer it complains about the folder already existing an offers a merge. This is reproducible on different machines (one with a clean install) using the \Windows directory as source:Ex: c:\Windows to c:\tempIt sometimes happens too when copying a Windows Image or File Backup to external drives.I am using Win 7 RTM x64.

pmeinl -Exactly how are you copying? c:\Windows to C:\temp\Windows or just copying the contents of C:\Windows to the other folder?

right click on c:\windows, copyright click in c:\temp, paste

this also happen to me. When copying any file it offer me to merge or and stated that the file is already exist. for example, this happen sometime if i, copy my document folder to my empty flash drive. it is like the copy process happen twice at certain file/folder.
