RTM 64-bit System Restore / Recovery Console bug?
Using the 64-Bit RTM of Win 7. Messed up the registry (used Auslogic registry defrag). System would not start, so I selected repair option. Startup repair did not find issue. Restore last known configuration did not work. Went to system restore and attempted to roll back to a previous restore point. System restore refused, saying that I needed to restore it to C:. (Recovery console said my Win 7 install was drive E:). Luckilly, I did a full backup before this happened, which restored fine in recovery console.Probably related to the way the disk is set up as follows:3 partitions:0: 32 bit Vista1: 64-bit Server 2008 R22: 64-bit Windows 7 (RTM).Not a biggy for me (I keep backups), but could be a biggy for other users.:) Now I wonder if I had run recovery console from DVD instead of F8 if it would have worked?
