RSS Feeds don't resume updating after sleep
Hi. Sysops - please move this thread to the correct category (I couldn't figure out where to post it..) - thx.I track 3 RSS feeds via "Feeds" in IE8 (Win7RC x64). After a boot, the feeds update properly (I have it set to the default of check every 15 minutes).Aftersleep and resume cycles, the feeds do not resume updating until I manually initiate an update with a right-click and "Refresh All" command.I have deleted the rss database files, and reinitiated the whole thing with msfeedsynch disable / enable. I also note that the user_feed task in task scheduler looks fine - once its up and running it regenerates itself nicely for the 15 minute update... But apparently it dies upon sleep and resume, even though the update task appears to have set itself for "run task asap after a scheduled start is missed".Thanks/jim

Hi JimYou did good, this is the right spot for this. :)The problems with hardware/software notreturning to it'sinitiated state properly, when the system resumes from sleep are well known. Many bugs were filed on this naming specific components, but the causeis central tothe sleep process itself. The only information we have is that the bugs have been reported and are being worked on. The best we have right now is to just advise everyone to manually reinitiate whatever process or deviceis effected.Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP

RTM Update:Ok, so I've done a clean install with the x64 RTM and I'm sorry to report this bug is still present. RSS feeds do not resume auto-updating after the system comes back from sleep.Bummer. /jimOverall, the RTM (combined with the new solid-state drive I treated myself to in honor of it) is great!Update: I've found a reliable workaround for the problem: I created a task in task scheduler that kicks off the rss synch upon every "logon" -- even when resuming from sleep my machine requires a "logon" -- so voila. It would be nice for this to be fixed in and of itself though..

i'm on the win7 beta team and worked with ms to solve this issue. i've been notified that there is a fix, as of mid september, but nobody can tell me when it's going to be pushed out.i'm tired of running my batch file to reset the sync everytime i resume or reboot, too. beendoing it for 10 months now.so, you're not alone and hopefully we won't have to wait for sp1 for a fix.

Hi. I have a good, simple and reliable workaround in place. I just created a task that runs the command-line:%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\msfeedssync.exe...with a trigger of "On workstation unlock of any user".When I resume from sleep I do require unlock, and then the update task marches on.Best/jim
