RPC service crash when share is accessed
Hi all, whenever a computer with Windows XP SP2 or Windows Server 2003 connects to one of the shares on my Windows Vista Ultimate computer, the RPC service crashes on the Vista workstation and it reboots. It works perfectly when I connect to my Shares from another Vista computer. Here's the event description. The Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 60000 milliseconds: Reboot the machine.Source: Service Control Manager Eventlog ProviderEventID: 7031Any Idea what the problem is?

I'm experiencing the same problem. I can use Vista to hit shares on my Server 2003 box but if I do the reverse it reboots Vista instantly.

I am having the same problem also, but it occurs with any computer connecting to my vista public folder or shared folders AND when i connect to another vista computer from mine (mine will crash). I've tested this with a vista laptop and a mac laptop with the same results. on a possibly related note, my computer essentially freezes when transferring any large amounts of data over my network (that is, when it's not rebooting). this has happend when trying to upload using ftp (through html-kit) and when transferring even small amounts of data from my vista install to my linux pc in the basement (ubuntu 6.10 running samba) it's very annoying and i cant seem to find ANY fix anywhere.
