RDP from Mac using MS RDP Client 2.1.1 get black screen when remoting into Win 7 Enterprise Computer over VPN
Does anyone know what could be causing this? When I'm on my company's internal network ethernet or wifi I can remote into my windows 7 pc w/o problems. However, when I'm connecting thru the VPN from the outside I get a black screen that never shows the desktop even after I have passed it my credentials (using ms rdp client for mac). I can remote to an xp machine less than 5 feet from my win 7 machine and any other server on the network just not my win 7 computer. Any suggestions?

What security level is set on Windows 7? Are there any traces in Event logs? Have you placed your question in Mac forum? Chances are that this is typical problem for Mac RDP. (Test with another W 7 would do the same "job"). (This type of problem is typical for the case when MTU is too long, but if you can reach other computers, then this seems to be no the case.) It works fine with other Win 7 machines. This pc was just recently built and it's only happening on this particular machine. The error message i get is... The Terminal Server security layer detected an error in the protocol stream and has disconnected the client. WHat security level on win 7 are you talking about? how can i check that? Thanks again.

Hi, May I know that do you have connected the remote network successfully over VPN? Please temporarily disable firewall and antivirus for testing. Maybe Aero theme is set in Windows 7 and it cannot be redirected. Note: Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac (version 2.1.1) is not intended for use with Mac OS X v10.7 (Lion) or later.Ivan-Liu TechNet Community Support
