RDP disconnect every few second
Hi,I connect from work to my home PC using RDP. This worked perfectly with XP for years, worked with Vista for the short while I ran that at home. I moved my home PC over to the RC, but evert few second the RDP connection terminates. Disabled powersaving etc. Internval is not consistent, I'm installing some software, and it seems to disconnect every time a new screen of the installer opens.Any ideas?Bas

You trying to install software on the remote PC while in a RDC session? If so, does the RDC session remain stable if your not installing software on the remote PC?MS-MVP Windows Desktop Experience, "When all else fails, read the instructions"

Hi Al,Instability persists (even after reboot). Time varies between less then a second (RDP connects but gets disconnect straight away) and several minutes. This RDp connection is over a VPN, I will try from local LAN later to see if that works OKBas

Sometimes upgrading graphics drivers solves weird issues like this. No guarantee however...MS-MVP Windows Desktop Experience, "When all else fails, read the instructions"

Graphics Driver may be an issue. I have the same problem. Like whenever I try to use other computer through RDP, the computer crashes. After updating my graphics driver its not longer disconnecting. Also you can check the registry value for the maxconnectiontime for the RDP session. If its two small then it will be disconnected. May be it helps.- Pratik vohera
