Background: Ive used RDP for years at work to connect to my home machine when my home machine was XP pro.
Work machine is 32bit Win7. I just upgraded home machine to Win7 32bit, so thats the change that occurred.
Troubleshooting:
All windows firewalls are offRouter is correctly configure with port forwarding to home host.
Home Win7 machine has System > Remote Access enabled.Remote desktop works fine on the LAN.I can use RDP lite on my iphone via ATT 3G network to connect to my home Win7 machine.
But not an actual Win7 PC?
Im an Admin on both machines. All hardware drivers are up-to-date.From work Win7 box, it will occasionally prompt me for my login/password of home Win7 machine, but disconnects instantly (Ive even seen my screen for a nano second).
Then it will deny any connection attempts for a few hours.
It will then prompt me for my l/p again, but kick me immediately.
Could it be my Netgear router thats a few years old? Does the netgear router somehow have issue with connecting two Win7 machines.
Where it connected a Win7 client to WinXP Pro host without issue?
Comcast is my ISP.
PC is an older Intel Chipset with a 2.6 GHz processor
2.5 GBs RAM
Just replaced the Vid Card to -ECS GeForce 512MB DDR2 AGP 8x
Win7 Pro OEM
