Starting yesterday, wmpnetwk.exe was spiking to 25-50% CPU usage every 60 seconds. One side-effect was that the CPU usage prevented the PC from idling out into standby mode. I do not have media sharing enabled, and I have not recently added or modified any video files. Logging out, then back in again, did not resolve the problem. The problem disappeared after I rebooted, but I wanted to report it so the underlying error can be found and fixed.
