RC1: My Documents folder is Read Only and cant change it
Upgraded from XP and the My Documents (Now just Documents) folder has been marked as Read Only. I right click and try to take off the attribute for the folder and all sub-folders. Vista security kicks in and I allow the change to go forward and Vista spins through all the files and folders taking off the Read Only attibute. Seems to end OK. Yet when I try to save something to Documents it tells me it is read only. Check any file or folder and sure enough still marked as read only. How can I really change this?

Check if you encrypted My Documents folder in XP, if you did and upgraded, so you'll get such procedure, if not, so it's might due to a malfunction or bug in your copy of beta Vista. Good luck

I don't see any recent postings but I am having the same problem and the files were not encrypted. Since this version of Vista came installed on my new Gateway I don't think it is a beta version.
