RAID 1 on data drive for Windows 7 ultimate 64B
I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on 2 80GB SSDs set up as RAID 1. Now I have added 2 40GB SSDs that I have successfully set up as RAID 1. The Intel Matrix Storage manager recognizes them and when I go into control panel system devices they are recognized. However, when I click on My Computer the only mass storage devices that are recognized are the C disk, USB flash drive, and DVD. How do I get Windows 7 to recognize the 2 40GB as a D: disk in My Computer?

Partition and format the new array? (Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Disk Management.) I apologize if you've already tried the obvious.

Thank you. That was it. I am new to Win 7 and this is my 1st exp. with RAID so its confusing as to know where and what to do. Much different than XP. FYI: From Intel Matrix Storage Manager I asked to verify the volume. It responded with volume not initialized and asked if I wanted to do it. I responded with yes and that did the trick. THANKS for the help and feedback there!!!!
