Question about transfer speeds over network
Hi guys, newbie here. Im having an issue (or what i think is an issue?!) with my home network transfer speeds. I'll explain the situation fully... I have a WDTV live hd media player in my downstairs living room that has a 1.5TB usb 2.0 WD external hard drive connected to it, this is connected by an ethernet cable to a Devolo Powerline home plug. Upstairs i have my cable modem (where the incoming cable connection is located) and router connected to my PC, which also has a Devolo powerline plug connected to it. I am trying to cut/copy large files over my home network from my PC to my external HD however i am running into transfer speeds that never exceed 3.0mbps, i understand that the data has to go through quite a bit of hardware to reach its destination so is this speed normal for the setup? Thanks
