Quad CPU for Windows 7
I understand that Windows 7 is made to use Quad CPUs so if I'm going to build a computer for Windows 7, how important is it to build one with quad CPU's vs. dual CPU's?RichardOld Man

I understand that Windows 7 is made to use Quad CPUs so if I'm going to build a computer for Windows 7, how important is it to build one with quad CPU's vs. dual CPU's?Richard Old Man HiThis really depends on how you intend to use the computer.If your normal computing habits only include less resource intensive programs such as email, internet browsing, office applications, etc, the Dual CPU will be more than adequate.However, if you do Gaming, work with large databases,etc, the Quad CPU will definitelygive youan advantage. Almostas important is the amount of memory you have installed. A 64-Bit OS with a minimum of 6GB of RAM will make either a Dual or Quad Core CPU fly.As a general guideline, the more powerful and state-of-the-art components will also 'future proof' the system.Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP
