Purpose with recovery
I was wondering about the purpose with recovery? I got a laptop which I use for games mostly, and so I often install new games and often uninstall them again. I remember in the days with windows 95, when you had just borrowed some games from public library and installing them could mean system damage, black screen and search for drivers; that rarely happens now. For security Windows 7 got 1) system image and 2) backup and 3) recovery. I keep a system image on external HD incase something like in the old days should happen again. I could also keep fx. a backup of all the documents (saved games etc.) and upload them to skydrive but nothing ever happens. But what is the purpose with "recovery"? Seems like all that it recovers are the menu lists. Fx. I once tried to use recover after it seemed like "an uninstall" didn't work properly. But then I got these old links in menus which refered to games already uninstalled. And then I had to use the system image backup because I couldn't recognize things anymore. Windows update often adds a new point to the recovery list. But every time I install and uninstall and then finish with cleanup with CCleaner I just delete all the recovery stuff, that just seems annoying. Perhaps it is possible to disable recovery? Is that a good idea?
