Public Folder Sharing in Rc
I have the RC installed and when I enable Public Folder Sharing for my Domain profile it creates a share called Users that points to C:\Users. This share grants Everyone full access (though NTFS limits rights to read). This seems crazy. Shouldn't it have be sharingC:\Users\Public instead?Nobody else has noticed this?

Yes, I have been seeing this. However, I don't see many other users reporting it (this was the last thread I had opened as I went through for fellow sufferers).

You can't change it? Or unshare the Users folder?

Well yes I can manually tweak the share (or delete and manually re-add the correct share). And I have done this on my machine. However it seems a big security concern in general, for those who do not notice it. I just can't believe anyone would find this acceptable. By default anyone is open to browse through all of my user files. Eeek. The only expanation I can come up with is that there is something specific to my domain or configuration that is causing this, or many others would be seeing the same problem.

It isn't about what one finds acceptable. If this is the only way to do it during the RC life cycle, that is it. There will probably be additional releases before the official release of the Operating system, and you can feel safe in figuring that any potential security concerns would be addressed before that time.

Absolutely. I guess I was just feeling like the lack of any response to this issue here was an indication of its lack of importance. I guess I am feeling less connected with the lack of a feedback mechanism in the RC. In the beta I felt like my voice was heard through the Send Feedback mechanism that was built in.I'll consider this issue complete at this point.

I'm having a weirder problem. I can share other folders, but for some reason my Public folder won't share. And, when I use the "wizard"to share it, (the only option), I found several bugs, like it doesn't keep your share/unshare settings. So what's the point? Guess I'll move all the files and "recreate" the public folder, but I'm sure there's lots of secret stuff behind the scenes that I'll lose. What a loser this is turning out to be. But at least the Explorer is a whole lot easier to differentiate files from folders....
