sure you can.
One solution is to use FIM WAAD Connector to Setup this Scenario, however this is not recommended for new implementations but it will work and is still supported.
or
you can use the PowerShell Connector to create contact objects in O365/AzureAD from Person objects using the Azure AD Powershell CMDLets.

And I would personally recommend this option as you have more control what attributes are set and what values do they have. For example WAAD connector does not allow you to fill ProxyAddresses with SIP: address for contacts.you can use the PowerShell Connector to create contact objects in O365/AzureAD from Person objects using the Azure AD Powershell CMDLets.
Yes Dominik is right, also if you enable new AAD Features like writeback old sync Solutions like DirSync and WAAD Connector my stop working.
There was a blog post about that but I did not find it right now.
So using Powershell should be your recommended way.
