Projector with windows problem
Ok I will start with I am trying this with an iMac running windows XP, but really any laptop has the same problem. I would like the external video out to automatically run as soon as it is plugged in. I have several (over 30 imacs and laptops) running to projectors, and everyone has to be manually configured in windows to display to a projector. That is easy for one or two, but with 30 (way more than 30 actually) it becomes a huge problem. I know all the different ways to manually connect these. Is there a way for windows to act like the Mac OS side? When a adaptor is plugged in to an iMac on MacOS, it simply pops up to projector every time? Boy that would help a lot. Would anyone know if Windows 7 can do this? Thanks for any points on this. Matt

In spite of ome extensive research on the internet, I didn't come across any MS article/blog affirming the feature tou have mentioned in the post. Post your query on Microsoft feedback and try your luck: Windows 7 Feedback http://mymfe.microsoft.com/Windows%20%207/Feedback.aspx?formID=195 Cheers!'Tis all a chequer board of nights and days, Where destiny with men for pieces plays; Hither and thither, and mates, and slays. I appreciate you looked. I think the problem can be similar to any laptop with just XP on it. An iMac is essentially a MacBook with the guts moved up behind the screen. The iMac even has the exact same features where it wnats to save battery power, even though there is no battery. So thinking of this as a laptop problem, I was trying to find a way to make any laptop with XP simply read that a vga gets plugged in and automatically outputs video everytime - without the press Fn + f7 or whichever key or right clicking on desktop for graphics options. I will try the other feedback spot. This is totally an in between the cracks problem. Thanks again for looking.
