It was the latest Window Security that they release this past Tuesday. I got home Wednesday night and I just update Window like I normally do but when it restarted nothing seem to work or it would talk awhile for a program would start but wouldn't work at all. The only program that did work after like 5min was Firefox all the other program would not function at all.. What I ended up doing is "removing" the update that was install Aug 11 and everything is back to normal. I did deactivate the window update though which I normally wouldn't do. I did go back and see what Window Security Update that was added then removed (by me). KB2115168KB982665KB983583KB982214KB2160329KB981997KB2079403KB2183461KB981852KB980436

My guess is malware. These are classic malware symptoms. Full scans with both. Update Malwarebytes prior to the scan. Not necessary for SuperAntiSpyware.Superantispy-portableMalwarebytes.orgI don't vote for myself I'm not here for the points. If this post helps you, vote. But I'll do a scan tonight. If you don't use the software I listed the links to above you are pretty much wasting your time. I am not saying that other scanners will not detect anything. I am saying that the two I listed are the best above all. To know for sure you need to begin with those two which may lead to others depending on what, if anything, is detected. I don't know if you mean Windows Defender or if you mean Malicious Software Removal Tool when you say "Window Malware Scan". Either way you need to use the ones I listed.I don't vote for myself I'm not here for the points. If this post helps you, vote. Visit my forum @ http://repairbotsonline.com/

Thanks for the reply. I use Malwarebytes with the update on Aug 5 and got nothing. Gonna run the other one you mention to see. Sorry for not being specific, but I use the Malicious Software Removal Tool.

Thanks for the reply. I use Malwarebytes with the update on Aug 5 and got nothing. Gonna run the other one you mention to see. Sorry for not being specific, but I use the Malicious Software Removal Tool. You are welcome. Malicious Software Removal Tool is a good malware scanner on the second Tuesday of every month. Why only on that date? Because that is the only time it is updated. New malware is created daily and hence, for a scanner to be effective it must also be updated daily. As for Malwarebytes, I would find it difficult to believe anyone has used Malwarebytes in their fight against malware more than I have over the past few years. However, Malwarebytes seems to have fallen off tremendously over the last month or two. I have no idea what is going on over there. Nevertheless, when using Malwarebytes, as with any malware scanner, you need to check for updates prior to scanning unless the scanner applies automatic updates. This is true even if you, for example, scan your computer in the morning then again in the evening. When performing the evening scan you need to check for updates even if you updated prior to the morning scan. I still rank it among the best but honestly, that is not saying too much. There are really not many scanners available who are keeping up the pace. The only exception to this is SuperAntispyware. In times past SuperAntispyware was good for locating adware but not much else. However, these guys have really stepped up their game of late. The same is true for Hitman Pro 3.5. While not as efficient as SuperAntiSpyware, the scanner has improved significantly of recent.I don't vote for myself I'm not here for the points. If this post helps you, vote. Saw something similar with Internet access. - For me this was fixed by going into Tools-Internet Options-advanced and ticking the box for TLS 1.0. Patch that caused the problem was MS10-049.Uninstalled the patches one at a time to figure out which one caused the problem.
