Profile resets after password change
Hi, I got a couple of cases where Windows 7 users complains that the local users resets itself after reset of password. Did some searching and found a hotfix for terminal servers and 2008R2 OS where this happened if you use roaming profile.. We do not use roaming profile on local computers, but this still happens. Anyone had this problem? Currently running Windows 7 SP1 Enterprise edition. Regards Trond Erik

Please try the following: The terminal server roaming profile of a user account is not loaded correctly on a terminal server that is running Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2008 after the user password is changed during session logon Carey Frisch

Hi, Did you try the KB form Carey Frisch’s suggestion? Furthermore, you can try to register lsasrv.dll for test. lsasrv.dll is an important security DLL which decrypts all local password hashing schemes on the computer. lsasrv.dll is a system process that is needed for your Windows system to work properly. Hi, I am sorry for late response. I will try the patch that Carey Frisch suggest, but this seems to fix an issue if you use roaming profile on a terminal server. Since this is on a local windows 7 machine and not a terminal server i am a little uncertain if this will help. Will also try to register the dll specified, I got several cases now from different computers all running the same OS. Ill post as soon as i have tested this.
