No, and there is no such thing as a lifetime activation and RC versions couldn't be activated now even if you had a key. Time to move on to Retail, VL, Technet Subscription, or MSDN Subscription. Your friend giving you a key would have been illegal irregardless. Here's one with the key embedded Windows 7 Enterprise 90 Day Evaluation MCSE, MCSA, MCDST [If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message. I doubt that there's any way to find that old RC key. Also, Microsoft stopped releasing keys on 21 October, 2009.However, the RC product keys have been published to the Web. (There may have been as few as 16 distinct keys.) A few second's work with a web search engine should turn them up. The sites include some that are not hardcore hacking or piracy sites.I hope you're aware that the RC begins shutting down every two hours on 1 March, and stops working altogether on 1 June. You'd get a longer uninterrupted use by installing the Win7 Enterprise evaluation version (good for 90 days), or the final version (runs without activation for 30 days, but that can be re-armed as many as 3 times, for a total of up to 120 days).Better yet, buy Windows 7. It's not inexpensive, but it'll get you out of the realm of mythical activation keys.
