Process running, programs don't open
Hi all. I'm having with my OS at work, a few programs won't open although process is running. All programs run well except, ACDSee Photo Manager 12 and Mozilla Firefox 4. For example Firefox 3.6 works fine, when I install version 4 it doesn't open but the process runs, with ACDSee the same thing, sometimes it opens but mostly it doesn't in all the cases the process runs. I'm advanced user, don't tell me to scan for viruses and so on, I did all of this things, I thought "Norton Internet Security 2011" was the problem, I've uninstalled it but the issue persists. I followed this KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 but still I have the same problem. I really can't understand what's wrong, need some support. Thank you in advance. Windows 7 Professional...

Hi, Can you use swith to option to swith to the application UI in the Task Manager? Also, try to create a new user profile, then use the Compatibility Mode with this new user for a test. In addition, to use the Process Monitor can let you know what kind of activity the process makes. Download Process Monitor at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I have the same problem with ACDSee for Pentax 2.0... it was working fine, then it suddenly started crashing. I hadn't installed any new pograms or done anything differently. I managed to find a possible solution and downloaded r_acd_hkcu and ran it... seemed to fix. I have since downloaded an upgrade to ACDSee 12 and it keeps giving an error message and closing down. What can I do???
