Problems with wireless connection
Hello! I have a computer with Windows 32 Bits 7 Professional installed. This computer has a NIC, which is connected via the cable network. The computer also has a Wireless Network Interface. When the computer is connected via wireless (with the NIC disabled), I can not access Windows 2003 servers by using the UNC. Windows 2008 servers I can access through UNC smoothly. When I try to access a Windows 2003 server (Example: \\myserver), after several minutes, I get the following message: * The specified network name is no longer available This problem only occurs when I'm connected via Wireless. When I am connected through the NIC, the problem does not occur (I can access computers running Windows 2003 and 2008 without problems). Actions taken to solve the problem: * Enable network discovery. * DNS is resolving the name correctly. * Access via IP (Example: \\192.168.10.20) also does not work. * The driver of the wireless interface was reinstalled and updated. How to solve this problem? Thanks!

I suspect that the issue is caused by firewall in Windows Server 2003. Please temporary disable it. If the issue persists, I suggest you check the firewall settings on the router. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Are the computers in domain? I suspect that this issue is related to your local network topology. Is the wireless AP at the same device which is the default gateway? If not, could you please try to clearly describe the topology? Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
