Problems with server log on from Vista Home Premium
Hi, I'm struggling to log a Vista HPlaptop onto a Mac server. Have gone through the registry editing routine and changed LmCompatibilityLevel from 3 to 1, but still no further forward. One thing I noticed is that when I enter the username set up on the Mac into the log-in dialogue Vista adds the laptop computer name followed by backslash in front.I have not seen this when logging onto other servers. Could this be the cause of my problems as I assume the Mac is not expecting to see this? If so, how can I control what is sent by the laptop?

Hi, On Windows Vista, we just need to change the authentication level as you described. If the issue persists, we may need to do some tasks on the Macintosh server. I suggest that you contact Apple technical support for more information. http://www.apple.com/support/contact/ Meanwhile, the following website may be helpful.
