Installed a new Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse. Keyboard works fine, however, the mouse feels like I'm pushing a wet noodle through a tight hole. It's cumbersome, to say the least and it's very difficult to select "buttons" when I'm taking online tests. The pointer moves across the screen fairly smooth, but when I try to hone in on a particular point, that's when it gives me heck. Also, it goes into an almost strobe-like appearance when I have layered multiple windows open and am trying to point in on a particular area - it becomes slightly erractic. Trying to play any type of games that require the use of the mouse is more than a challenge even though I have it set to fast, the response time is slow and again, the pointer doesn't want to go to the exact point on the screen w/o a challenge. I've played with the options under the control panel (switch from fast to slow, etc.) and nothing seems to work. The mouse model # is 1067 and it's Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000. It would be great if Microsoft fixed the mouse issues many people on the web are complaining about. One thing I use to like about Windows as compared to OS/2 and Apple Mac was the responsiveness of the mouse. All things being equal for hardware using a new Microsoft mouse, I7 CPU, latest InteliPoint software the Mouse in Windows 7 simply sucks, and I'm not the only one complaining about it. Searching the web for solutions, the only thing that gets close is trying to edit your mouse setting withing HKCU, but even this won't allow a person that wants a responsive mouse to get the setting on their mouse anywhere close to what is desired. You would think as computers get faster and faster, and the mouse movement would be easier to make more responsive, however for some reason from WinXp to Vista the max mouse speed a user can set decreased, and again from Vista to Win7 even slower.
