Since yesterday (Dec. 12), my computer has started acting up.(1) It will not "multi-task", by that I mean, if the PC gets busy, it prevents me from doing anything till it's finished???(2)When I do a restart/reboot, it will not proceed to as asked, so I have to manually stop it.(3)After a restart/reboot, it "forgets" a couple items, specially those on the taskbar.I purchased this computer on Feb. 16, 2010. I have a combo, Windows XP & 7 . No problems with W 7, I only have that problem with W XP.Please let me know if you require additional information.Thank you

Check the status in safe mode with networking, to boot the computer in safe mode:a. Restart the computer and press and hold F8 key (Press and hold f8 key before the windows logo).b. Thank you Samhrutha.I took my PC to a technician to check it out because I could no longer use Windows XP, it just stopped working. I could not open any program. I also asked him to check the three items I had mentioned. He got Window XP operating again but did not solve or forgot about them, but I am still stuck with the same 3 problems.I tried your suggested solutions, but without succes. Tomorrow,(because of Holidays, everything was closed) I will go and see the tech again.Sorry about my delay in replying, but I lost my PC for 5 days, approching Holidays etc... kept me busy.Corsair 50

Well....finally, at least Windows 7 is operational and quite an expensive repair and the tech assured me that Window XP was OK. They installed a new hard drive. By the way....the first tech that worked on my PC was fired and the second tech fixed the PC by selling me a new hard drive?????Your assistance was greatly appreciated, thank you.Corsair 50
