When I click on a desktop icon to open a program, the screen goes blank for a second, then resets itself, but the the program does not open. Or another example, if I click START, Control panal, the screen goes blank for a second, then resets. Nothing opens up??????1 person needs an answerI do too

This error can be caused by malware. Try this using Windows Explorer. Navigate to \Windows\System32, right-click on cmd.exe and choose Open. If that fails try using the program command.com, which is in the same folder. Now type assoc .exe=exefile and press Enter. You may have to restart the computer.
