Problems with IE9 and OWA 2010 (on an Exchange Server)
Please excuse the slightly long-winded post as I try to describe the problem as well as I can! Mods if this is the wrong forum could you please move to whichever is best? I have been bounced around alot trying to get help for this problem - much appreciated! I have a problem accessing my work emails using IE9 (work exchange is using OWA 10). The problems described below occur on both machines I have - one a desktop running Win 7 x64 Ult and the other a laptop running Win7 HP - both machines run different configurations of software; security is the same on both running MS Security Essentials and Spybot. I do not get the problems when I access using Chrome of FF on either machine and no problems accessing via my mobile phone (WinMo 6.5 or Android) The problem I encounter is that I can log in okay and I see the inbox with the 1st message displayed in the preview pane. But I cannot select the message to display it full screen or select any other message. I get no responce when I try to click on any other mail folder. What I have to do is click on the "calendar" tab. After I do this (and the calendar loads) I can then click back into Inbox and select any message to view. Occasionally I have to click back and forth between calendar and inbox and this sometimes results in a rather corrupted overlay of the calendar and the preview pane. I cannot select any other personal mail folders no matter what I do. Network manager at work has been unable to recreate the problem when he looked into it for me

Wigwam12 could you please be more specific? Did you install the add-on or remove it? Thank you.

It was installed - I disabled it.

Thank you wigwam12 for posting this issue and the solution. I had the same issue, and both the work-around you described with the callendar as well as disabling the Div-X plug-in worked. I think the Div-X plug in was installed on my machine when I installed Roxio Creator 2012, but not sure... I hadn't associated the install to the timeline when OWA stopped working... Thanks again.

I have sorted it. An Add-on in IE (Divx web viewer) was the culprit Wigwam: You are DA MAN (or da woman)!!! I was having the exact same problem and disabling DivX cured it!!! Plus, this was a challenging issue to trouble shoot. I mean, what search terms do you use on such a vague topic. I found this thread after my 4th day of searching. Wrenchc09. I have also just installed Roxio Creator 2012 but... My recollection was that the problem predated this install. In my case I had needed to rebuild my home desktop with an entirely new build (Win 7 Pro) and IE 9. My OWA never worked properly after this rebuild and I didn't install Creator 2012 for a couple of weeks after the rebuild. Thanks again!!!Larry West University of Central Florida
