Problems with 32 bit programs in 64bit windows7 system.
Hello. I've recently bougth a new pc HP z6oo workstation to use for audio recordings. But i've soon notice that i'm having prolems with my windows products. for example i can't run any kind of video in the default WMP because i get the message "Windows Media Player stopped working...". The same happens with Internet Explorer... I've done some changes to see what's going on and i've found that if chenge the defaults and if i run the Windows media player from the C:\ProgramFiles and not the default from the folder Program Files x86 (32 bit) i can see the movie files. Something similar happens with Internet Explorer. I can run with no problem the 64 bit version. Can someone help me to figure out wht's going wrong in my system? Filipe Machado P.S. - Quicktime player is also not working. seems that this is a 32 bit program.... i tunes 64 bit can run in my system.

Hi Filipe Machado, When did this issue happen? Did you install any plugins on this WMP? Temporarily disable all plugins to check if it works. I also suggest you uninstall Quicktime, then check if WMP works. Try Clean Boot the computer, then start WMP and see the result. Most programs designed for the 32-bit of Windows will work on the 64-bit version of Windows. I've received the new pc 2 months ago. Heve install all programs i need to work and yes, i have install 2 codecs packs (K-lite and Windows 7 odec pack)... only after that i have test windows media player and quick time. Because i was having problem i thought that may be related with the codecs so i have unistall everything. But didn't work. I can't tell than if i was having this problem before the plug-ins and i don't have way to tell. I have made a clean boot but still is not working... :( Quick time works in other 64 bit machines... the problem is somewhere in my machine...
