Problems trying to connect WIN 2000 machine to net via wireless network
Sorry, I know this is an XP forum, this is a WIN2000 issue - hope someone can help anyway.I have a wireless network using WEP - trying to connect WIN2000 laptop: router and wireless card both NETGEAR.I've configured the wireless networking sw in the laptop, and now get indication **that I am connected to the network**.However - on trying to open a browser, indication is that there is no internet connection available. (Aside: If I run a ethernet cable into the port on this machine, I can connect.)Got some limited help from internet provider - ran ipconfig / all. One thing that seems to stand out is the line " IP Routing enabled....: NO" - I'm over my head at this point, but that looks significant to me. Next line is "WINS Proxy enabled: NO"Can anyone help me here? Is the information I've provided significant? (I can provide other info from ipconfig) Anything I can configure here (?enable IP Routing?) Other diagnostic(s) I can do?Any help would be most gratefully received!Regards,Bob T 1 person needs an answerI do too

HiWin 2000 has No internal support for Wireless. In order to run the Wireless you need a Wireless card that provides you with both Drivers and Wireless Manger for the card on Win 2000.Once you have the Drivers installed, and the Utility running you should be able to configure the Wireless connection to the Router.Start first with the Router's security Off, Enable the WEP after you know that you can connect and get to the Internet.
