Problems printing with Gateway Laptop and Epson Stylus NX420 All-In-One Computer
I want to print some documents from my computer to my printer. I have a wireless connection and it is working. However, when I try to print, the documents in the queue say error and don't print. I have installed the new drivers from Epson and it still won't print. Any ideas? Everything was working fine a few days ago, but I would occasionally have this problem. Now I can't print at all from my computer. The printer is working fine otherwise. I have Windows 7. Please help. Thanks.

You are asking question but have given no relevant data needed for troubleshooting. I would recommend Epson support http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/SupportIndex.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&expansion=1000000 Use diagnostic tools from http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?cookies=no&oid=151211&infoType=Downloads Regards Milos

I did go to Epson support and downloaded the new drivers and used the diagnostic tools. and I am still getting the Communication Error when I try to print something from my computer. In the printing queue, I am still getting "error printing" for any document I try to print. I have spent many hours now on this, and will probably call Epson support tomorrow and also my internet provider to see what the problem might be.

Did you do the firmware update SA28A7 from here? http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?cookies=no&oid=151211&infoType=Downloads It's supposed to improve wireless connectivity. You should give more information! Hi , We can clear the print spooler queue and make sure there is nothing suck in the print spooler. Click start, type cmd in the search bar, right click cmd and run as administrator. Type the following commands and press enter. net stop spooler del /F /Q %systemroot%\System32\spool\PRINTERS\* net start spooler Meanwhile, you can test the issue in Clean Boot mode and check if there is some conflicts with the printer. If the issue persists, the installed printer driver may be corrupted. Reinstall the printer drivers to diagnose the issue. Tracy Cai TechNet Community Support

Problem seems to be that the computer with Windows 7 does not communicate wirelessly with the computer even using the updates from Epson that are supposed to solve the problem. I have purchased a USB cable to connect them directly, and now I can scan and print with no problem. After several hours with the advanced tech support from Epson and working with a computer expert, both of them suggested I do this. All is well this way.

As long as it works for you and isn't causing any problems with wire routing or anything, it's all good :-) SC Tom
