Problems printing through an Axis 560 print server from local Windows 7 64 bits machine
Hi, We are experiencing problems with printing through an Axis 560 print server from a local Windows 7 64 bits machine. The prints from Windows 2008 R2 server farm works just fine. Both the local prints and terminal server prints runs on the same que on a Windows 2008 R2 print server. We get no errors. The print appear on the print server, but nothing happens on the printer. This is an old printserver and I can see there are some firmware updates available, but since the print works fine from the terminal server farm it should work from the local machine? Any suggestions out there? Regards, Geir Tore

Hi Geir, I would like to verify how you added the printer on Windows 7. Is the computer in domain environment? Does the printer show in Devices and Printers? How about using other printers from the server? Since there are some firmware updates available, please update them first to check the result. Meanwhile, you can download the printer driver manually on Windows 7 from manufacture's site, restart the spool service, perform clean boot and disable security software temporarily for a test. Check spooler service ---------------------------------------- a. Click Start, type services.msc in Start Search bar, and then press Enter. b. In the right pane, double-click Print Spooler. c. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, click Apply, click Start, and then click OK. Best Regards, NikiNiki Han TechNet Community Support

Hi Niki, Thanks for the answere. The printer is added through the add printers utility (AD integrated). The driver is installed from the print server (windows 2008 R2 server). The printer is online and seems to be ok. As I said it works perfectly from the Terminal server farm (Windows 2008 R2 terminal servers). I haven't updated the firmware on the Axis box because it is very old and several of my collegues have experienced problems with updating theese Axis boxes. The prints show in the print ques on the print server and leaves the que, but nothing happens on the printer. Regards, Geir Tore
