Problems post-system restore
Okay. You removed the malware with malwarebytes. But, you did not fix the damage the malware did to your computer and most of the time the only way to fix your system is to format the hard drive and re-install Windows. The damage done by malware much of the time is well beyond the capability of almost anyone to fix the system because you don't really know how extensive the damage done by the malware was. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I recently had to use the system restore function due to an upstart malware program reeking havoc on my computer. While system restore did successfully kill the virus, when I went into the Libraries section of my computer, ie my documents, my music etc, none of the documents or folders that had been their appeared there after the system restore. However, when I tried to copy and paste the various folders and files from my external hard drive, the documents and folders that were originally there register as still existing. So when I gave permission to either merge folders or replace them, they still did not appear in the my documents section. By contrast and comparison, if one goes into the "My music" section of libraries, all the various artists that are in my iTunes library will have their folders appear as well as the album names, but when I go into the album folder, looking for the individual audio files, they do not appear to be there. Even an album I recently added to the library from a thumb drive, although the album was loaded into iTunes, the files still do not appear in the library view. I don't know what to do. I want to be able to view the files again but I am not sure what is even wrong.

System Restore will not remove any malware! If your system was infected by malware and you performed a System Restore, the malware is still there! The only way you can get rid of the malware is to run a program for removing malware such as MalwareBytes. Until you remove the malware with a malware removal program you system is still infected. The problem you are having with your libraries are most likely the result of the malware messing your libraries up by corrupting or infecting individual files. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
