Problems installing the Microsoft Loopbackadapter on Windows Vista Ultimate
Hi Folks On my laptop I ave Windows Vista Ultimate installed. For accessing my guest (XP) on VirtualPC without a networking connection attached, I tried to install the Microsoft Loopbackadapter. But that didn't work: - either if I use "add new device" and choose the Microsoft Loopbackadapter, a device called "Net" appears on the list - then a while nothing happened and in the end the device is removed. - or with using the DevCon tool a device "*msloop" is installed but without drivers and therefore doesn't work How to proceed for installing the Microsoft Loopbackadapter? Or is there another way to access the VirtualPC without any network attached? Thanks for your help and kind regards Manfred

Hi, To manually install the Microsoft Loopback adapter in Windows Vista, please follow these steps: 1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. 2. Click Classic View under Control Panel in the left pane. 3. Double-click Add Hardware, and then click Next to continue the wizard. 4. Select Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced) option under What do you want the wizard to do?, and then click Next. 5. Select Network adapters, and then click Next. 6. On the Select Network Adapter page, select Microsoft in the left pane, and then select Microsoft Loopback Adapter. After that, click Next to start installing the adapter. Hope it helps.

Dear Joson Thanks for your answer. But what you wrote is exactly what I tried with no success. Do you have any idea why this wasn't working well? Thanks and kind regards Manfred
